Lily loved ice-cream. No,
she did not LOVE ice-cream; she was addicted to ice-cream. Lily could eat
ice-cream whenever, wherever. She did not date anyone who did not ask her for
ice-cream for first meeting. And second, and third. At least. Her favorite favor was cherry. When she was
angry she took lemon. She loved white-chocolate, banana, caramel, kiwi… What
she could not suffer was chocolate; she believed it was the creation of the
devil. Only such a pure-evil creature could violate THE ice-cream.
Lily's fridge was full of
ice-cream. A lot of ice-cream. And red-wine. Ice-cream and red-wine. That was
all Lily eats. Means, except human's-blood. But blood did not taste good when
left in fridge, so she always had to get out and get a fresh human's blood. It was
a real bother, but it was worth it.
Her roommate was really
annoyed at first. When he first saw her ice-cream-eating-ritual he thought she
has gone mad. With time, he was absolutely, with no doubt and completely sure
she was insane. Lily locked all the doors and windows, turned off the computer
and the TV and made the apartment all dark. Then, she started to sing, a song
which changed by her mood, and dance calmly. She ate slowly from a tiny little
silver spoon, taking breaks from singing but did not stop dancing.
As time passed by, Lily's
roommate, Tom, got used to her –UNUSUAL- habit. The first time he caught her in
the middle of the ritual, he broke the door to get to the apartment, she got
mad on him – either because he interrupted her ritual and because he broke the
door. He had to buy a new one. was a problem for vampires who cannot just walk
into a home-center-shop in the middle of the day. After that, he was precise to
be outside home at that special time.
Lily had some extra habits
that Tom could not understand. He moved
into her apartment, as the previous vampire-roommate she had forgot sun was not
his best friend. After the event, she decided she needed a
not-completely-stupid roommate – she did make audition. Tom found out that the
bedrooms are completely green, the bathroom had a cinnamon smell, and the
cruelest of all – she had an unlimited collection of birds. A lot, all kinds of
birds. The worst part? He could not even eat them.
He got used to her. Though
she had her flaws, he found her as a real professional about haunting-places
and chicks. Sometimes he thought she could actually read minds – she always
knew everything about the girl he brought home, without even talking with her.
And she told him everything she knew. That was a big plus. Tom did not know,
but once Lily lied about one of his girls. Lily could not stand her – she hated
ice cream.
They had a small
talk-to-the-day from time to time. Sometimes about birds, other times about
vampires. He still could not understand her, even after five years, though he
was sure she knew him too well. She helped him with his girls, but he could not
find a pattern in guys she was bringing home. She was unsolvable for him.
She went out a lot, but he
never knew where she had gone. In that night, he made a meeting with a sweet
vengeance-demon. Lily helped him to dress up right for the date. She always did
that. She had a… special taste. The date that night went fine; not too good,
not a mess. He walked the lady home, when he found out that the end of the
world was coming. As Lily knew it.
The sweet demon girl lived
in a basement, above which was an ice cream parlor. The parlor was inside the
building, means – no sun in the store. Completely dark, window-less store. It
was like heaven for Lily. The best part? There was an apartment for rent.
He walked home slowly,
taking off his coat and putting it on the couch. Lily hated that. He turned on
the TV loudly, putted his legs on the table, and started eating ice-cream. She
came running, screaming about the loud TV. She stuck with a weird face, watching
the strange situation. He smiled at her. "We are moving, love."
