Writing from Krakow...
Not easy, but I'm trying to make the best of my time here.
I had my BD a couple of days ago, which was weird - in poland with people whom most of which I had just met two days earlier, between trips to death camps and such.. but also surprisingly nice.. loads of people whom I barely know trying to do whatever they can to make it as enjoyable as possible for me.
Two things I just can't get out of my head:
-Maydanek death camp. Early evening. Hundreds, if not thousands of crows flying over the camp, especialy over the crematorium.
Emphasising death.
-Where used to be the Treblinka death camp. Grey clouds. Rocks all over forming a memorial monument. Someone singing "El Male Rachamim".
An echo of his singing returned from the woods.
The ground is singing back. Voices of the past.
Another weird post... but I guess that's what happens when your mood changes between being in death camps
and such, and singing and playing the guitar on the bus and in the hotel..
I'll talk to you all when I get back to Israel..
